PlusMinus - Running Wild - Estrado - Friday the 13th

Camera: André Broens (www.abroens.nl) Vrijdag de 13e. Voor de sommigen een ongeluksdag, maar in Estrado Harderwijk niet hoor. Daar stonden een aantal prachtige metalbands op het rooster om het lot deze dag volledig om te draaien. Als afsluiter van de avond speelt de tribute band Plusminus covers van oa KISS, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Black Sabbath en andere klassieke hardrock bands. Plusminus bestaat uit leden van Ancient Rites, Inquisitor, Sublustris, Art of Preminition en Ede Lapdog Bluesband. Dit betekend dat menig lid al vele jaren podiumervaring heeft en dat is zowel te horen als te zien. Ook deze avond was deze band een garantie voor een geslaagd feest van bekende herrie en een aardige dosis humor tussen de nummers door. Om deze vrijdag de 13e te openen, stond de oldschool death metal band Panoptikon op het podium. Deze band kent stevige zware riffs en diepe grunts begeleid door beukende drums. In 2006 is de band opgericht en in 2011 hebben ze een promo uitgebr! acht die ze die avond uiteraard ten gehoren brachten. Als 2e band van de avond, was Eve's Fall aan de beurt. Deze band speelt een verfrissende mix tussen progmetal en gothic metal. Ondanks dat de band niet te bang is om pop-invloeden toe te passen, verliest de band nergens hun metalgeluid. Eve´s Fall is een nieuwe band waarvan dit dan ook de eerste live show was. Maar de leden samen hebben al aardig wat live-ervaring op gedaan in Annatar.

04/02/12: Jesse White Unveils New Organ and Tissue Donation Campaign

Secretary of State Jesse White urged all Illinoisans to join the state's organ and tissue donor registry, following the unveiling of an ad campaign featuring Vikki Tulcus, a long-time advocate of the organ/tissue donor program, who now finds herself in need of a kidney. "This campaign shows that you never know when you or someone close to you may need for an organ transplant," White said. "Vikki has been working with the organ donor program for almost 10 years, helping donor and recipient families as well as those who are waiting for transplants. Now Vikki finds herself in the same position as 5000 others in Illinois who are waiting---she's waiting for the generosity of an organ donor to save her life." Currently there are more than five million people registered to become organ/tissue donors in Illinois, however more than 300 people die each year waiting for an organ transplant. April is National Donate Life Month. Organizations will be working together to promote organ and! tissue donor awareness throughout the state. Television and radio ads will air statewide throughout the month in English and Spanish. The ad will also be played on approximately 650 movie screens across the state. In the ad, Vikki, who currently works for the Secretary of State's Organ/Tissue Donor program, says, "Before my job depended on the organ donor program, now my life depends on it."
